Ingredients
  

Cookies
  • 113 g butter, softened
  • 50 g granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla
  • 0.25 tsp almond extract
  • 125 g flour
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 50 g strawberry jelly

Method
 

  1. Line a large baking sheet with a silicone mat, and make room in your fridge for a cookie sheet.
  2. In a large bowl, add the softened butter and beat with an electric mixer on HIGH until light and fluffy.
  3. Stream in the sugar while beating.
  4. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract very well.
  5. Evenly sprinkle the flour and salt on the dough. Mix just until it comes together.
  6. Scoop out dough, roll into balls, and place on a baking sheet.
  7. Dip pinky in flour, make heart shapes, and add jelly to each heart.
  8. Chill cookies in fridge for one hour.
  9. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 12 minutes until edges are golden brown.
  10. Let cookies cool completely on the baking pan before removing.

Notes

Ensure cookies cool completely on the pan to prevent them from breaking. For variation, try using different jam flavors.
